Antenatal  Midwives have regular clinics at the surgery and are specially trained to care for mothers and babies throughout normal pregnancy, labour and after the birth. Midwife Monday, Tuesday & Thursdays
Phlebotomy Any blood tests that are requested by a doctor will usually require you to arrange an appointment with a Health Care Assistant Health Care Assistant Monday – Friday
Blood Pressure Check The test is quick and painless, and most people will have experienced it before. Health Care Assistant Monday – Friday
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (AMBP) Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is when your blood pressure is being measured as you move around, living your normal daily life. It is normally carried over 24 hours. It uses a small digital blood pressure machine that is attached to a belt around your body and which is connected to a cuff around your upper arm. It small enough that you can go about your normal daily life and even sleep with it on. Health Care Assistant Monday – Friday

Smears The Cervical Smear Test can detect cell changes in the cervix (neck of the womb) that can lead to cancer if left untreated. If the changes are present, treatment is nearly always simple, effective and without major surgery – this is a preventative test to detect cancer before it develops further.We offer cervical cancer screening at our surgery to all our female patients who our eligible. The Government recommends that all women between the ages of 25 and 64 have a cervical smear test every three to five years, depending on your age Nurse Monday, Thursdays & Fridays
Pill checks You will initially require one of these after 3 months of taking the contraceptive pill. We will recheck your weight and blood pressure and ensure there are no problems arising.. As long as no issues identified, you will be allowed to have a 6 month prescription for the pill and the facility to request one further repeat of that prescription. This will provide enough pills for just less than 1 year. We need to see you for annual checks whilst you continue taking the contraceptive pill. Nurse Monday – Friday
Chronic Illness Management For patients with Asthma, Diabetes, Chronic Heart Disease, lung or kidney disease, Mental Health, issues, Hyperthyroidism, Hypertension and Peripheral Arterial Disease. Ongoing medical condition as above requires regular monitoring. Nurse & Health Care Assistant Monday – Friday
Ear syringing Ear syringing involves using a pressurised flow of water to remove the build-up of ear wax. Nurse Monday – Friday
Spirometry & reversibility Spirometry is a test that can help diagnose various lung conditions, most commonly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Spirometry is also used to monitor the severity of some other lung conditions, and their response to treatment. Nurse & Health Care Assistant Monday – Friday

Influenza and Pneumonia vaccine In accordance with Department of Health guidelines, we recommend an influenza plus pneumonia vaccination for patients with diabetes, chronic heart disease, lung or kidney disease and residents of nursing and rest homes. The vaccination is available from October onward; please contact the surgery for further details. Nurse & Health Care Assistant Monday – Friday

Travel advice Our practice nurses will be pleased to give advice to patients who are planning to travel abroad. Please allow adequate time in order for any vaccine(s) to be effective.
